5. Service Providers

We may disclose personal information to trusted service providers that perform functions on our behalf, such as hosting, security, analytics, communications, customer support and identity-verification infrastructure.

We require service providers to handle personal information only for authorised purposes and subject to appropriate confidentiality, privacy and security obligations.

6. Law Enforcement, Safety and Legal Disclosure

We may preserve or disclose relevant personal information to police, regulators, courts, tribunals or other government authorities where required or authorised by law.

We may also disclose relevant information where we reasonably believe this is necessary and lawful in connection with suspected or reported criminal conduct, fraud, scams, predatory behaviour, grooming, stalking, harassment, threats, violence, or a serious threat to a person's life, health or safety.

We seek to limit any disclosure to information reasonably necessary for the relevant purpose.

7. Overseas Disclosure

Some service providers may store or process personal information outside Australia. Before publication of this policy, Find-a-Husband.com will identify the countries in which overseas recipients are likely to be located, where required by Australian privacy law.

Where personal information is disclosed overseas, we will take reasonable steps required by applicable law to ensure it is handled consistently with relevant Australian privacy obligations.

8. Data Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards designed to protect personal information against loss, misuse, interference and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. Measures may include encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, logging, security monitoring and periodic security review.

No internet service can guarantee absolute security. If an eligible data breach occurs that is likely to result in serious harm, we will comply with applicable obligations under the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme, including notification to affected individuals and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner where required.

9. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, to operate and secure the platform, to resolve disputes and safety matters, and to meet legal or regulatory obligations.

  • Account and profile information is generally retained while an account is active and for a limited period after closure where reasonably necessary for account administration, safety, dispute resolution or legal obligations.
  • ConnectID verification information is retained only to the extent and for the period reasonably necessary for identity verification, account security, audit and applicable legal obligations.
  • Activity and safety information may be retained for a limited period where necessary for fraud prevention, safety investigations, complaints, legal claims or platform security, and may subsequently be deleted or de-identified.
  • Where information is subject to a lawful preservation requirement, safety investigation or legal process, deletion may be deferred until that requirement ends.

11. Account Closure and Deletion Requests

You may request account closure and deletion of personal information. We will delete or de-identify information when it is no longer required, subject to information we are legally entitled or required to retain, including information reasonably required for security, fraud prevention, complaints, legal claims or active law-enforcement matters.

12. Marketing Communications

Where we send direct marketing communications, we will do so in accordance with applicable law and provide an appropriate way to opt out. Service, account and security communications may still be sent where necessary to operate or protect your account.
